Abstract:
The dead wood is important for biodiversity conservation. To measure it on the field is long and expensive. It would be usefull to be able to detect it and to have an estimation about his quantity using Lidar data. The first question is to know with what accuracy it's possible to detect it.
The second question is to know if it's possible to make a model to predict the deadwood volume from different variables, like variables related to detected deadwood or to forest state (height, canopy closure, and so on.)
A comparison of that method with other methods (field measurements, Elena Haeler study) will be done at the end.
