Specialties of Marcelo Sternberg:
I am a plant ecologist with expertise on factors regulating the composition and structure of plant communities in Mediterranean and desert ecosystems. Moroever, I am working on factors regulating root and plant litter decomposition processes in the framework of climate change. I am also studying, primary productivity, biodiversity and soil seed bank germination strategies along an aridity gradient. Other areas of interest relates on the effects of grazing on the structure of natural plant communities in Mediterranean and semiarid ecosystems. I am highly interested in searching for common patterns in plant communities when comparing altitudinal vs. longitudinal gradients.
