Specialties of Yavor Shopov:
My research is focused primary on development of new methods and apparatus for measurements of solar insolation and paleoclimate in speleothems. Research of luminescence and stable isotope paleoclimatic and global change records from different countries. Development of the principally new autocalibration dating technique for laminated sediments. Research of the influence of the climate and hydrological factors over solubility of karst rocks and karst denudation. Development of quantitative theory of impact of climate on karst denudation. Research of Geochemical Records of Paleoclimate and Global Changes. Reconstruction of the past rainfall from growth rate variations of calcite speleothems. Stable and cosmogenic isotope analysis of speleothems. Time series analysis of large databases. Study of solar and climatic cycles.
