Specialties of Andrea Izquierdo:
I have extensive expertise in research and conservation projects in subtropical forests and High Andean ecosystems. I have used satellite images, demographic analyses and field based data to explore socioeconomic drivers of land-use change in the Northwest (Izquierdo & Grau 2009, J. Environmental Management) and in the Atlantic Forest of Argentina (Izquierdo etal. 2008, Ecology&Society); and both dynamic and GIS-based models to explore complex processes affecting environmental services, land use patterns and Biodiversity.I have experience in multidisciplinary work related to the ecology of land use change and ecosystem services, including training in GIS tools combined with field-based empirical work, cutting edge geospatial analysis, and a serious commitment to the application of my research to conservation and land use planning. During the last two years, I have co-lead a project on highland wetlands conservation.
