Jon Marco Church

Jon Marco Church has been Associate Professor of Sustainability and Governance at the University of Reims since 2012. He is member of the HABITER research laboratory. His research focuses on the governance of socio-ecological systems, such as mountain ranges, river basins and regional seas. He is also Senior Lecturer at the Euro-American Campus of Sciences Po in Reims, where he teaches classes of International Environmental Politics and of Sustainability Science. He is the author of the forthcoming "Ecoregionalism: Analyzing Regional Environmental Agreements and Processes", to be published by Routledge. From 2009 to 2010, he was a Ruffolo Fellow in Sustainability Science at the Harvard Kennedy School and, since 2011, he has been serving as expert for the UN, the EU and other development partners on regional economic cooperation in Central Asia and national and global water governance. Before that, he collaborated with the Italian Ministry of the Environment and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in the field of the international governance of mountain ranges. He obtained his Ph.D. in Political Science from the Sorbonne in Paris with a thesis on the Alpine Convention, a regional environmental agreement.
